Chasing our Family Ghosts!!

We all know how fun it is to figure out and to finaly put the last piece of the puzzle in .  But when your as I like to say " Chasing Ghosts " meaning  tracing your family tree or line sometimes you find out things that make you just shake your head .  I started looking for my family when at the age of 25 I found out my mom not only had 1 birth certificate she had 3 !!! ... ok theres something not right about this I thought .. hmm boy was I right. I was so right I had to stop searching for the truth until my grandmother died . yep I thought so to what an odd I'll put it nicely request from my mom .  So in 1998 I started to look for the reason for all the secretes .  Turns out that my grandmother and another girl and I mean girl like 14 & 15 were pregnant at the same time by the same man who was in his 20's .  This was back in the early 20's they also lived in a small logging town on the upper Penn of Michigan .  From that point on the skeletons came flying out of the closet .  So much so I had to stop and try to absorb it all .  Was this realy my strict Catholic grandmother ????  My mom wasn't raised by her for the first 18 yrs ??? She was raised by her grandparents ????  Ye gads do I have someone else's info and not my gramma's??? 

Nope it was all true ... which expalins alot on why all thru my younger years I always felt that they my mom and gramma acted more like sisters then mother and daughter .  My gramma remarried when mom was 6 , she has 6 siblings and they didn't even know the truth of my mom's birth . When my mom was born my and I use the word  Grandfather lightly he acknowledged her and  gave her his last name then ignored her so much so he would cross the dirt street when he saw my mom coming just so he didn't have to talk to her .  Then one day when she was 5 poof he was gone .  No one knew where he went or what happened to him not even his own parents and siblings.  I finally found him in buried in California in 2005 .  One more piece to the puzzle .  I had always hoped to find him before she passed but thats not what happened .    So keep looking for your family ghosts your bound to run into them at some point durring your research !!
